Time & Meeting Point.

The Adventour starts at the popular Mojo Market situated on the Main Road of Sea Point, Cape Town.
Arriving at 09h00, the experience commences and kicks-off with an enjoyable, full breakfast together.
The trip departs promptly at 11h00.

Mojo Market Orientation.

• Easing into the much awaited excitement with a full breakfast, as you’re introduced to the team and your fellow styling hikers.
• A brief orientation, whilst each individual hiker familiarises themselves with their fully stocked and suitably equipped backpack.
• Hop on to your dedicated shuttle, taking the group to the start of the Kasteelpoort Route, situated about 10km’s from the Mojo Market, and just above Camps Bay.

Kasteelpoort Route Ascent.

• The first moment of ascending this Western side of Table Mountain winds up on the jeep track and quickly elevating you from Camps Bay.
• Approaching single track territory, the hiking path begins to ascend marginally, before traversing to the right-hand side of the famous Twelve Apostles, situated now directly in front of you.
• A patient and steady walk of around 90 minutes, takes you to the halfway point (Breakfast Rock) now being reached.
• Taking a well-deserved 30 minute break, enjoying the 180-degree view of the Atlantic Seaboard, and taking a further moment to discover your fully-prepared backpack. After which, the collective group now anticipating what lies ahead, continues forward to the summit, a sure determined goal. • The route, at this stage, begins to elevate somewhat dramatically, however the speed of hiking drop’s-off to a comfortable pace as larger strides are demanded.
• With about 3hrs passed since the first steps taken, the body now feeling it, the elevation lessens and the summit is finally being reached.
• At the moment of exiting this most exhilarating Kasteelpoort Route, a network of well-marked trails begin to provide one with a sense of orientation and direction. Insert drum-roll please… at this point, the very top of the Twelve Apostles (Table Mountain) has been summited – you are now upon one of the seven Wonders of The World!

Summit & Stay-over.

• Looking across the full expanse of the mountain top, hikers seek out comfortable areas to enjoy their heartily prepared lunches, reveling in their hiking efforts.
• The hut for the overnight stay may only be accessed after 16h30, giving hikers time to independently explore the various vantage viewpoints on offer.
• On entering the hut, all are welcomed by a Hikeistyle team member, be pleasantly surprised by the neatness, space and comfort of the hut – your new home for the night. The remaining part of this late afternoon provides peace and tranquility.
• A hot shower is certainly on offer; however, it is only accurate to mention that at times the water pressure is weak, and a good old hot bucket shower may be used, adding to the adventure.
• An roaring indoor fire place comfortably caters for the entire group, your dinner now being prepared.
• As the evening approaches and the sun sets, hut candles are lit, setting the tone and atmosphere. Camp fire stories told, day’s events shared, and slow-wining and dining commences. Last stories are digested, candles begin to go out, as the day closes on these satisfied bodies and rested minds.

What goes up, must come down

Day 2 – Table Mountain Descent

Good Morning Sunshine.

• Waking up at your own leisure, hospitality of a furnished hut allows you to enjoy a hot cappuccino and rusks to dip. A sneak peak out beyond the hut’s front and backdoor, reminds you of the glaring reality: “I really did just wake up on top of Table Mountain!”.
• Move around the hut at your own pace, as the smells of a warm breakfast or fresh alternative stir the excitement.
• After an enjoyable breakfast, the hikers begin the pack-down as overnight gear gets stowed away.
• At around 09h00-10h00, leaving the hut, hikers are introduced to an enjoyable walk around two of the largest Table Mountain reservoirs (Woodhead and Hely-Hutchinson).

Kasteelpoort Route Descent.

• Just before noon, begins the inevitable descent back down the mountain, it’s hard saying ‘goodbye’ to this Seventh Wonder of the World, although assuredly you’ll be back for more.
• We take it easy on the first part of the descent, as this is fairly slow and relatively technical. Just 90 minutes in, marks the arrival once again at the now-familiar Breakfast Rock.

Cocktails & Celebrations.

• One last look across the Atlantic Seaboard, a breathtaking photography moment, an elevated birds eye-view across the beautiful city, that awaits your arrival below.
• Arrive back to the awaiting shuttle vehicles, a trip back to the vibrant Mojo Market for celebratory cocktails, encompasses the glorious landing for this ultimate Hikeinstyle Overnighter.
